SCAN DOSE SUMMARY

Zinc-L-carnosine (ZnC) is a chelated compound — NOT simply zinc + L-carnosine. The chelated form has unique GI mucosal healing properties that neither zinc nor carnosine alone possesses. A 2007 study found PepZin GI (75mg 2x/day) healed gastric ulcers comparably to anti-ulcer drugs. It adheres to ulcer sites 3x longer than free zinc. Also reduces NSAID-induced GI damage by 75%. Used by gastroenterologists as adjunct for gastric/duodenal ulcers and H. pylori eradication. Dose: 75mg 2x/day. PepZin GI® (Hamari Chemicals, Japan) is the studied form. --- *Reviewed by the Dose AI Research Team and Clinical Advisory Board* *Last updated: 2026-04-06*
