ZMA is a branded combination (SNAC Systems) of zinc (30mg as monomethionine/aspartate), magnesium (450mg as aspartate), and vitamin B6 (10.5mg). The ORIGINAL study (Brilla 2000) reported 30% testosterone increase in football players — but the lead author HELD THE ZMA PATENT. Every independent study has found NO testosterone increase. Two 2007 studies (Wilborn, Koehler) found zero effect on testosterone, strength, or body composition. Our assessment: the minerals are fine (many people need zinc + Mg) but the testosterone/performance claims are DEBUNKED. Save money — buy zinc and magnesium separately. --- *Reviewed by the Dose AI Research Team and Clinical Advisory Board* *Last updated: 2026-04-06*
