Haritaki is one of the three fruits in Triphala (see triphala.md) — considered the 'King of Medicines' in Tibetan medicine. Contains chebulic acid and chebulanin with potent antioxidant activity (DPPH scavenging >95%). Clinical evidence: improved constipation, reduced dental plaque, and enhanced cognitive function in Ayurvedic trials. Used in Ayurveda for virtually every condition (Triphala's 'brain component').
