Saponins are amphipathic glycosides found in ginseng, tribulus, astragalus, yucca, soapwort, etc. They foam in water (natural soap). Biological activities: immune modulation (vaccine adjuvants like QS-21), cholesterol binding (reduced absorption), cytotoxicity to cancer cells (membrane disruption), and adaptogenic effects. NOT a single compound — saponin activities vary enormously by source plant. Anti-nutrient effect at high doses (bind minerals, irritate gut). --- *Reviewed by the Dose AI Research Team and Clinical Advisory Board* *Last updated: 2026-04-06*
