Muira Puama
MODERATE EVIDENCESupplementLast updated
AVELOR SUMMARY
Brazilian 'potency wood' used traditionally as an aphrodisiac. One open-label study by Waynberg (1990) reported 62% of men experienced improved libido and 51% improved erections. NO placebo-controlled studies exist. Contains muirapuamine (beta-sitosterol derivative) with possible PDE5 inhibition (very weak). Dr. Jacques Waynberg's studies are the ONLY published data and have never been replicated. Our assessment: traditional use plausible but clinical evidence is negligible.
