Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme complex from pineapple stems with evidence for surgical swelling/bruising reduction, sinusitis, and osteoarthritis pain. Our research identifies it as a legitimate anti-inflammatory enzyme — but bioavailability is low and it interacts significantly with blood thinners.
