Androsterone is a weak androgen and DHEA metabolite sold as a prohormone/testosterone precursor. Our research shows it has minimal anabolic activity — it's about 1/7th the androgenicity of testosterone and primarily exists as an inactive metabolite in normal steroid hormone metabolism. The supplement industry markets it as a "legal steroid alternative" but clinical evidence for muscle-building or testosterone-increasing effects is essentially nonexistent. More importantly, it's a WADA-banned substance and its regulatory status is gray (may fall under the Anabolic Steroid Control Act as a prohormone).
